ARE YOU FACING MARIJUANA POSSESSION CHARGES?

The use and sale of marijuana are highly debated topics in the United States. While some states have taken steps to legalize and decriminalize marijuana, Texas remains firm on its stance and continues to strictly penalize offenders.

A possession charge, even a minor one, can have a major impact on your life and future. It could jeopardize your position and planned career path or affect your chances at getting into a good school. Protect your future by seeking immediate legal representation following arrest.

At Ross Law Offices, P.C., we will thoroughly evaluate and investigate your case to ensure that the State was diligent in following proper procedure at the time of your arrest. We will explore every opportunity to resolve your case through out-of-court negotiations, but are prepared to aggressively fight for your rights at trial, when necessary.

Penalties For Marijuana Possession In Texas

In Texas, possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana is a Class B misdemeanor; possession of between 2 and 4 ounces of marijuana is a Class A misdemeanor. If convicted, you could serve up to one year in jail and be ordered to pay a fine of up to $4,000.

Possessing more than 4 ounces of marijuana is a felony offense, the degree of which is determined by the exact amount found and other circumstances surrounding the arrest (i.e., if there was an intent to sell or if you were arrested near a school).
